We understand how important of a desicion choosing a training organization is. Here are some of the questions that we are asked often. Our hope is that you feel comfortable and confident in finding a home at IPPA.

I don't live in the USA. Am I able to take your training?
Yes! We have trained students from all over the world including Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Portugal, Chile, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, China, Bermuda and Costa Rica. Each training is tailored to the students location to ensure that they are abiding by regional law and procedures.

Do you have restrictions on where you can encapsulate?
No. IPPA believes that with the right education and protocol, placentas can be safely encapsulated regardless of the location. The placenta will only be physically coming into contact with the specialists placenta encapsulation equipment. Not with your counters, sink or stovetop. Our students are trained with the highest sanitizing standards to ensure that their clients are offered the best service possible.

After I take a training, am I certified?
No. You are considered trained and capable of offering either postpartum doula or placenta encapsulation services. In order to acheive certification status you need to complete additional requirements that show your experience, knowledge and skill. Certification is not mandatory.

How long will it take me to become certified?
For our postpartum doulas, it will take you between 4 and 6 months to complete the training and certification process. For our placenta encapsulation students, it will take you between 6 and 9 months to complete the certification process. You can complete the process sooner than the above timeframe, but IPPA discourages rushing carelessly through the program. You can only submit your certification packet once. Take your time and turn in your best work.

What are the benefits of becoming certified?
For placenta encapsulation students, access to our tiered certification, merchandise store, additional training opportunities, special provider listing benefits and the ability to apply for a trainer position. For our postpartum doula students, you will receive forms tailored to your business, 2 hours of one on one phone support per month, merchandise store, special provider listing benefits and the ability to apply for a trainer position.
